Fresh ceasefire violation; Army jawan martyred, 2 injured

An army jawan has been killed during ceasefire violation by Pakistan in the Rajouri sector of Jammu and Kashmir

Pakistan violated ceasefire thrice on Monday.

The first violation was in the Mendhar sector of Poonch district and two others in the Rajouri sector.

Two army men were injured during an unprovoked Pakistani firing in Bala Kote village in the Mendhar sector. The injured personnel were shifted to Army Command hospital in Udhampur.

On Friday, two civilians were killed and many injured when Pakistan targeted civilian areas and forward Indian posts along the Line of Control (LoC) and International border in Jammu, Kathua, Poonch and Rajouri districts, following which Indian troops retaliated and killed 15 Pakistani soldiers, PTI reported.

Over 60 ceasefire violations were reported since the surgical strike by the Indian Army against the terrorist launch pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

The latest casualty comes day after an Indian soldier was killed and mutilated by terrorist, aided by Pakistani cover fire.

Since surgical strike, four army jawans and three BSF soldiers were died in the cross border firing between India and Pakistan along the border.
