Gagandeep Singh, the Uttarakhand cop who saved a Muslim man from getting lynched has been conferred with ‘Frontier Service Respect Mark’ award.

Sub-inspector Gagandeep had saved a young Muslim man from a mob in Ramnagar, when the young man was allegedly discovered with a Hindu woman in a temple complex. The incident took place on May 22, when the boy came to meet the girl.

This is not the first instance when a policeman has displayed exceptional devotion to duty. Such acts, however, are few and far between.
