Global Passport Index : India ranks 66th, Singapore tops

India’s passport came 66th in the latest ranking release of Global Passport Index. The passport ranking, released by Henley and Partners’ takes into account the ease the citizens of the country feel via travelling to different countries. Henley provides rankings of various passports of the world.

In their latest release, Singapore has topped the table, with their citizens enjoying visa-free access to 165 countries. Besides the south-east Asian nation, the list is dominated by the European countries. Germany and Denmark earned the next two spots.

For the Afghan passport holders, the release is anything but a good news. Their country’s passport ranked 91. While, India’s neighbour Pakistan could only earn the second last spot, placing themselves at 90.

The establisher of the index, Henley & Partners, is an international citizenship advisory firm. The company is based in London and came into existence in the late 90’s.

India has the visa-free score of 66, while the toppers Singapore have obtained a score of 165.
