Gold and Silver Rates Today, August 25: Gold prices continued it’s strong run in the local market on Tuesday, while silver seemed to face a bit of pressure after that recent rally. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold futures inched up following firmer global quotes and a softer US dollar. Silver futures meanwhile stayed jumpy, with buyers and sellers switching sides as profit booking kicked in and everyone was waiting for fresh hints from global economic data.
Gold has added almost ₹8,200 per 10 grams across four trading sessions. Silver, in contrast has taken a pause after three sessions of consecutive strength. Under the surface, traders are basically watching the US dollar, inflation updates and what’s coming next in the interest-rate outlook.

At the national level, 24K gold was around ₹1,63,490 per 10 grams, while 999 fine silver was priced at around ₹2,45,250 per kg in the latest available market data. Gold has gained more than 5% over the past week, while silver has also posted strong weekly gains despite Tuesday’s volatility.
