Gold and Silver Rates Today, September 3: Gold stayed in the spotlight on Thursday. Traders watched the US dollar move, bond yield shifts, and what people think the Federal Reserve may do next. Dealers were also paying close attention to how prices are behaving in India after a shaky start to September.
Around 10:30 am IST, the MCX gold contract was near ₹1,54,134 for 10 grams. At the same time, MCX silver was about ₹2,39,106 per kg. In that latest snapshot, both were higher than where they had been earlier in the day.
Retail rates were also moving. In the September 3 update, 24K gold was listed near ₹1,53,020 per 10 grams. 22K gold was around ₹1,40,268 per 10 grams. For 999-fine silver, the retail figure was near ₹2,36,020 per kg.
MCX gold edged higher on Thursday. Before that, it had been softer for a few sessions.
Around 10:30 am IST, MCX gold was near ₹1,54,134 for 10 grams. Not long before, the quote hovered close to ₹1,52,402 for 10 grams. Later in the day, the peak hit roughly ₹1,54,248 per 10 grams. From the earlier figure, the latest move was about ₹1,732. In percentage terms, that is near 1.14%.
The MCX data page also shows an October 2026 gold contract. Its previous close was about ₹1,51,729 per unit. Sometimes the chart looks odd because the contract month and the time of the check do not match.
MCX Silver Price
MCX silver also climbed. At about 10:30 am IST, it was near ₹2,39,106 per kg. Earlier, it was around ₹2,36,266 per kg. During the day, the high came to about ₹2,39,575 per kg. In the most recent update, silver gained around ₹2,840, or roughly 1.20%.
This comes after a rough patch for silver. For the September 4 contract, silver finished at ₹2,29,549 per kg on September 2. In that session, it moved between ₹2,25,666 and ₹2,31,429.
