Gold And Silver Prices Today On June 10
Gold Price Forecast Today: Gold prices hovered just above the key $4,000 area during Monday’s European session and XAU/USD was sitting near $4,009, while people waited for that convincing move out of a symmetrical triangle setup. In other words, the precious metal is in a crucial technical stretch. Analysts are pointing out that the squeeze in the trading band can turn into a sharp impulse move either up or down, over the next few sessions.
As of the time of writing, XAU/USD was trading close to $4,009, not far from the psychologically important $4,000 support. The fact that the distance between support and resistance is shrinking suggests the market is nearing a real turning point, and soon too.
On the upside, the first snag is around $4,037, where the 21-day Simple Moving Average, (SMA) is currently sitting.
If buyers can actually get through, the next stop may appear near $4,055, this lines up with the 50-day SMA. A solid break above both averages would help support the bullish case, and it could open the door for a run toward $4,100. After that, $4,200 is still the next big resistance zone traders are keeping under watch.
Despite the recent recovery, the downside risks not fully faded yet, and honestly it still feels like they’re lingering. The $4,000 psychological level keeps acting as the immediate support, just there. If we get a decisive drop below it, gold could start probing the latest swing low near $3,965. If selling pressure picks up further, analysts say prices might press losses toward the $3,900 area.
Still, as long as gold is holding above $4,000, buyers are thought to keep stepping in, defending the metal from those deeper pullbacks.
For indicators, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) stays under the neutral 50 mark. That suggests bearish momentum is loosening but it hasn’t flipped into a confirmed upswing yet. At the same time, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) is only pointing to modest bullish momentum, so market sentiment looks cautious.
Overall, when weakening bearish pressure meets a tighter trading range, the odds of some kind of volatility breakout begin to look higher, and you can almost see it coming.
Right now, XAU/USD is trading around $4,009 and moving toward the apex of its symmetrical triangle. Traders are basically settling into a wait-and-watch mode, nothing more. A push above $4,037 then $4,055 could bring back bullish momentum aimed at $4,100 and $4,200, however, a break below $4,000 might open the door back toward $3,965, and possibly even $3,900.
Until a breakout is confirmed, analysts expect gold to stay stuck in the range, while investors wait for new economic catalysts and more obvious cues from global financial markets.
