Shimla, Dec 28 (IANS) Himachal Pradesh has proposed an annual plan of Rs 7,100 crore for 2019-20 fiscal, an increase of 13 per cent from this fiscal, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said on Friday.

Thakur presided over a meeting of legislators to prioritise development works such as roads, water supply and irrigation which are to be included in the state budget.

The Chief Minister said MLAs’ development priorities under NABARD have been increased through Rural Infrastructure Development Fund. He said projects of Rs 544.21 crore have been cleared by NABARD during 2018-19.

Thakur said the state has succeeded in getting six major external-aided projects worth Rs 9,689 crore from the Central government under tourism, horticulture, mushroom development, drinking water supply, water protection and rainwater conservation and forest management in the past one year.

Thakur said the state has launched ‘Jan Manch’ to redress grievances of the people at their doorstep. This is helping in saving their time and money besides avoiding unnecessary harassment in getting their problems solved.

The Chief Minister said the progress of development schemes of different departments were being reviewed and monitored online so that projects could be completed within stipulated time, besides maintaining quality of works.

BJP legislator Narender Bragta said Kuppar in Jubbal should be developed as skiing destination, besides developing Giri Ganga as a tourist destination. He said Hatkoti could be developed as a major religious and water sports destination.
