How DIGIPIN Works?

DIGIPIN gives each spot a ten-character code. This code shows a small area of about 4 by 4 meters. So even a small house or shop can get its own code. It works everywhere in India in cities, villages, and even on water. It doesn’t replace the old six-digit PIN code but adds more accuracy to it. Now, with this new code, you can find a place exactly where it is.

People can also use a website to find the DIGIPIN code for their place. You can type in your location’s map coordinates and get the code. You can also do it the other way, type in a DIGIPIN code to find the exact spot on the map.

How to Check Your DIGIPIN on Your Mobile Phone:

• Visit the official portal at dac.indiapost.gov.in/mydigipin/home, created by the Department of Posts for easy access to the system.
• Make sure your phone’s web browser has location access enabled. If not, adjust your browser settings to allow it.
• When prompted, grant permission for the site to access your location by clicking “Allow.”
• Agree to the terms of the DIGIPIN privacy policy by tapping “I Consent.”
• Your unique DIGIPIN will appear in the bottom right corner of the screen.

If location access is turned off or you want to look up a location remotely, you can use the manual map feature:

• Open the Know Your DIGIPIN portal.
• Use the interactive map on the homepage.
