Husband-wife artist duo Siddharth and Shibani Sengupta presents Krishnayan Aranyak, an art exhibition featuring a collection of their individual paintings. While Siddhartha’s paintings revolve around the familiar figure of Krishna, Shibani has always been mesmerized by the diversity of colours and textures one witnesses in the midst of dense flora and fauna. The exhibition includes around 70 paintings.

Explaining his recurrent focus on Lord Krishna as a central motif in his paintings, Siddharth Sengupta explains, “Krishna doesn’t live only in mythology, he lives among us – a character more human than divine. My abiding fascination for him has forced me to paint him time and again.”

Whether it is Siddharth’s vibrant pictures of Lord Krishna in his various avatars or scenes from an alcoholic’s den, one is immediately impressed by his dramatic choice of colour, the rich textures and his use of light.

Exhibition Dates:

8th to 14th January, 2019

Time:

11am to 7pm

Venue:

Nehru Centre Dr. Annie Besant Road,

Worli, Mumbai – 400018.
