Indian Air Force once again came to serve to the humanity proving that we can depend on our defense personnel when in need. Recently, the IAF rescued four National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) workers stranded in Andaman Nicobar Island.
As said on the official Twitter account of Indian Air Force, on December 14, the NHAI workers suffered severe burns while at work in the Andaman and Nicobar. They needed to be airlifted at the earliest to Kolkata for treatment.
Considering the urgency of mission, IAF acted swiftly. C130J unit was tasked for this mission. Aircraft was launched within 45 min and crew flew non-stop to Port Blair despite deteriorating weather over the Islands.
The aircraft carried out a night landing at Port Blair airfield, which is not undertaken by civil airlines.
