Mumbai: Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA and Women & Child Welfare minister Pankaja Munde gave rise to a controversy with her remarks on ‘changing the constitution’.

Pankaja, who is the daughter of former Minister, late Gopinath Munde, made comments while addressing an election rally in Beed in support of her sister  Pritam Munde, a BJP candidate.

“This is not a Zilla Parishad, but a Lok Sabha election. Mahamanav Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar wrote the Constitution. We have to change the Constitution, bring new Bills and make some changes,” Pankaja Munde said.

For this we have to send a capable person to the Lok Sabha,” Pankaja said at an election rally in her hometown of Ambejogai.

NCP leader Dhananjay Munde referring to the alleged ‘Chikki’ scam took a jibe and asked if the changing constitution was as easy as eating Chikki.

The video of Munde’s address has gone viral on social media. Several users slammed the legislator for her remarks.
