Ileana D’cruz, who made her Hindi film debut with Anurag Basu’s Barfi, has been quiet about her split with boyfriend Andrew Kneebone for a long time now. The two called it quits, a few months ago.
However, in a recent interview, Ileana D’cruz revealed that she has been quiet about her split because she respects the other person’s privacy and she does not want to speak on the behalf of her ex-boyfriend Andrew.
While speaking about the things that have been said online about her split with Andrew Kneebone and does it affect her or not, the actress said, “There is always that one interview where something or the other will be taken out of context. Or they will sensationalize one sentence in a paragraph. For me, it’s always been about the fact that when you are in a relationship, it’s not just you. It’s two people. So you cannot be just one person saying stuff. You are technically talking for the other person too and it’s not fair. You need to respect their privacy too. While I’m okay dealing with criticism and trolls, it’s unfair for the other person to be subjected to that.”
“I have accepted the fact that people want to know about you and they are curious. I don’t get upset on them for wanting to know stuff. I can only tell you stuff about me but I will not put them into words because I need to respect another person’s privacy. So, there are certain things that I will not talk about because of it,” the actress told an entertainment portal.
The actress was also asked whether heartbreak affected her or not post her breakup and how she dealt with it, she said that her family has been her greatest support and their values have always helped her come out of difficult situations.
On the work front, the actress was last seen in Ajay Devgn starrer Raid. She will be next seen in Anees Bazmee directorial Pagalpanti co-starring John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Kriti Kharbanda and Arshad Warsi. The film will hit the theatres on November 22.
