All-Indian final at Singapore Open 2017 after Srikanth’s victory

Kidambi Srikanth defeated Indonesia’s Anthony Sinisuka Ginting in the second semi-final of Singapore Open 2017. Kidambi swept a 21-13, 21-14 win in a match.

Srikanth will be facing B Sai Praneeth in the final. Praneeth beat Lee Dong-keun of Korea, 21-6 21-8, in the first semi-final earlier on Saturday. This will be the first all-Indian Super Series final.

Srikanth, a Rio Olympic quarter-finalist made a remarkable comeback after he was lagging in the beginning of the game at the score of 4-9. While Praneeth will be playing in his maiden Super Series final, for Srikanth it will be third.

As per records, Parineeth has just lost once against Srikanth while he was victorious four times. Meanwhile, on Friday, in women’s single PV Sindhu was knocked out of the championship. She lost against her Spanish rival Carolina Marin 11-21 15-21 in the quarterfinal.
