Jharkhand’s Gangsters Hiding Abroad: The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) has reportedly issued Red Corner Notices against two wanted gangsters from Jharkhand, Rahul Singh and Rahul Dubey. Both men are believed to be hiding outside India and are accused of running criminal networks from abroad. Jharkhand Police hope the international action will help them track down the two men and bring them back to India.
IG (Operations) Narendra Singh confirmed the development. According to police investigations, the gangsters use phones and other digital platforms to stay in touch with their local members. Their networks are allegedly involved in extortion demands, threats and shootings across different parts of Jharkhand.

Police investigations suggest that both gangsters give instructions to local criminals while staying outside the country. Their network includes local gang members, shooters and illegal arms suppliers who carry out activities on their behalf.
Their main targets are businessmen, coal traders, contractors and construction companies. The gangsters allegedly demand money from these people as protection charges, also known as levy. Those who refuse to pay can face threats and attacks at their business locations or construction sites.
The two men have reportedly managed to avoid arrest because they’re operating from outside India’s reach. With the Red Corner Notices now issued, police in other countries can be asked to help locate and provisionally arrest them.
A Red Corner Notice isn’t an international arrest warrant. It asks police across different countries to find a wanted person and take action under their own laws while India seeks extradition or similar legal action.
Rahul Singh was earlier a key member of the gang led by Jharkhand gangster Aman Sahu. After Aman Sahu was killed in a police encounter in Palamu on March 11, 2025, Rahul Singh and Rahul Dubey went on to build their own criminal networks.
Rahul Singh’s gang is active in several important industrial and coal-producing areas of Jharkhand. Its reported reach includes Ranchi, Ramgarh, Palamu, Bokaro, Chatra, Hazaribagh and Latehar. These areas have many coal businesses and construction projects which have faced extortion threats.

The Rahul Dubey gang also came under the police scanner after a shooting at AK International Hotel in the Matwari area of Hazaribagh.
On October 29, 2026, gunmen fired four rounds at the hotel’s main entrance at around 10:10 pm. The bullets broke the glass entrance, but the security guard escaped without injuries. A social media post claiming responsibility in Rahul Dubey’s name appeared after the shooting. It also carried threats against the hotel owner and local coal traders. Police said they were checking whether the post was genuine.
On October 30, Ranchi Police arrested five alleged members of the Rahul Dubey gang. Police said the accused confessed to their role in the hotel firing. One of them was injured in a police encounter while officers were trying to arrest him.
The police later arrested Ziaul Habib on October 31. He’s accused of supplying weapons and ammunition to the gang. This took the total number of arrested gang members to six, according to police. Officers also recovered pistols, cartridges, magazines and vehicles during the investigation.
