On Sunday, during the practice match of the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings, close to 12,000 fans flooded the MA Chidambaram Stadium to have a glimpse of their favourite cricketers sweating it out in the training session ahead of the IPL 2019. Soon, Dhoni entered the pitch in his practice gear, he was chased by a fan.

During the practice session, chants of “Dhoni Dhoni” reverberated across Chepauk as fans queued in numbers to catch a glimpse of their favourite star. Dhoni strode to the centre pitch in his practice gear and took a few throwdowns. Soon he spotted the oncoming fan onto the pitch in a bid to meet the former Indian skipper. Dhoni with a smile on his face ran around the bowling coach L Balaji before greeting his fan with a handshake.

The wicketkeeper-batsman played a little ‘catch me if you can’ with the fan before security intervened as shown in the video which was posted by Chennai Super Kings official Twitter handle.

In the end, Dhoni greeted his fan before he was escorted out of the ground by security officials.

Earlier during the Australia series, at Nagpur, a similar instance had taken place when a fan invaded the pitch to meet his idol and touched his feet. But the playful 37-year-old didn’t make it an easy task for the fanboy as he was forced to chase the cricketer through the group of Indian players.
