Official Twitter handle of Press Trust of India appeared to have been hacked on Wednesday evening.
The news agency has around 1.8 million followers in the verified Twitter account.
The Twitter handle was allegedly hacked by ‘Iran Crack Security Team’.
The group sent out tweets such as, “Join the best channel telegram” among other tweets. PTI’s profile images was also changed.
The account was restored within minutes.
Earlier, a series of cyber attack carried out by ‘Legion’ group against Vijay Mallya, Indian National Congress, Rahul Gandhi and others.
The increased number of cyber attacks is arising a serious question on the Internet Security in the wake of the country’s move to digitisation.
