Itarsi railway station under bomb threat

Panic triggered at Itarsi railway station after a news of bomb at station broke out. A phone call was made by unidentified person threatening to blow off the junction. As per India.com reports, the Railway Protection Force is conducting a search operation at the station along with the dog squad. Besides RPF, the GRPF (Government Railway Police Force) and Police have also started looking for the bomb and the foot over-bridge, as per ANI, has been cleared.

A similar instance was observed on Thursday when security agencies were on their toes after following a bomb scare at Churchgate station in Mumbai. Reportedly, the call was a hoax as nothing was found in the searches conducted at the station. An unknown call was received at 10.44 am at RPF control room and the caller informed that a bomb has been planted. Efforts are being made to trace the caller.

Also, recently, Pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN) – an explosive powder was found in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly after which security was beefed up and UP chief minister banned the use of mobiles phones inside the assembly.
