‘James Bond would never be a British spy’: Head of MI6

Although he is capable of single-handedly saving the world from disaster, James Bond would never get a job as a British spy, the head of M16 has said.

Alex Younger, head of the ultra-secretive agency, said 007’s life of hand to hand combat and seducing beautiful women all the way was perhaps not quite as realistic as some may hope to believe. Real spies had to cope with complex moral and physical challenges in the most forbidding environments on earth.

“An intelligence officer in the real MI6 has a high degree of emotional intelligence, values teamwork and always has respect for the law — unlike Mr. Bond.”Alex said

He also added that M16 staff are not from the other planet who lacks ethical values but they are ordinary men/women who believes undermining British value even in defending it might be a failure.

‘My ultimate goal is for more people to consider a career in MI6 and to get rid of the myth that it’s all about having studied at Oxford or Cambridge or having advanced hand-to-hand combat skills,’ he told the Black History Month, a website dedicated to Britain’s annual celebration of its black culture and heritage.

Alex Younger urged the ‘best of Britain’ to apply for a job in the secret service to keep the countrymen safe.
