James Corden, the famous host of “The Late Late Show” on CBS, will be hosting the Grammy Awards next year, the Recording Academy announced Wednesday.

A music personality, Corden, had hosted the music industry’s awards ceremony in 2017 and the show was viewed by 26 million viewers. He took over from LL Cool J, who had been hosting the awards function for five years.

The Grammys will celebrate their 60th anniversary at Madison Square Garden this year, returning music’s big night to New York for the first time in 15 years.

Before his Grammys debut, Corden had admitted that he didn’t have much exposure to the show. In a media interview, he said he was preparing by watching past Grammy performances and its hosts and taking some valuable advice from LL Cool J.

“He said you just have to be yourself,” Mr Corden said.

He also said, “I think what we’re going to try to do as best we can is just try to inject as much fun into the evening, as opposed to being funny.”

To that end, he brought his signature “Carpool Karaoke” to the Grammys stage, which was much enjoyed by the audience.

Grammy Awards will be held on January 28 next year.
