In a major development, JD(S) MLC Suraj Revanna has been arrested in Hassan on allegations of engaging in unnatural offences. According to police sources, the arrest follows accusations of sexual abuse made by a male party worker.
Booked under various sections of the IPC, including 377 (unnatural offences), 342 (wrongful confinement), and 506 (criminal intimidation), Revanna was remanded in judicial custody for 14 days by the 42nd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Bengaluru. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has taken over the case.
The complaint has stirred significant controversy, with Revanna, the elder son of Holenarasipura MLA H D Revanna, categorically denying the charges. He claims the allegations are part of a larger conspiracy aimed at extorting Rs 5 crore. The unfolding saga extends beyond Suraj to other family members, including his brother, former MP Prajwal Revanna, who faces accusations of sexually abusing several women.
