JEE Main 2026 Exam Dates: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the dates for JEE Main 2026. The first exam will be from January 21 to 30, 2026. The second exam will be from April 1 to 10, 2026. Students can start registering for January in October 2025. Registration for April will open in the last week of January 2026 after the first session results come out.

JEE Main is a national exam for students who want to get into top engineering colleges like IITs, NITs, and IIITs. It is one of the toughest exams in India. NTA also said it will add more exam centres so more students can take the test easily.

Registration Process

The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 will run over nine days, from January 21 to 30. Candidates can register at the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in starting October 2025. They can log in using their Aadhaar number, mobile number, and email ID. For Session 2 the registration will start after the January results in late January 2026.

NTA has asked candidates to make sure that “their personal details exactly match their Aadhaar information to avoid discrepancies during application verification.” The agency also said that admit cards are expected to be released three days before the start of each session. Candidates can check the official notice issued by NTA for more details.

More Exam Centres

To make the exam easier to reach for students, NTA will increase the number of JEE Main exam cities both in India and abroad. The agency said that “several new testing locations will be added to accommodate the increasing number of aspirants and minimise travel-related stress.”

This will especially help students from remote areas who faced difficulties reaching centres in the past. NTA is also improving its digital systems with better mock test portals and live registration helplines.
