While closing the aircraft door, a Jet Airways air hostess fell down on the runway, meeting serious injuring in her neck and spinal cord. The incident took place on Thursday August 30 at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) when the cabin crew was on the flight to Leh.

A Jet Airways spokesperson said the cabin crew scheduled to operate 9W635 Delhi-Leh plane accidentally tripped at the aircraft galley door.

“Medical attention was immediately administered as she was transferred to the Indian Spinal Injury Centre, a local hospital in Vasant Kunj, accompanied by an airline staff, for further examination and treatment. At Jet Airways, safety of our guests and crew is of paramount importance,” the spokesperson said.

The police have ruled out foul play but aviation regulator, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has launched an inquiry into the matter.
