Jharkhand Rain Alert: Jharkhand will see varying weather conditions in the coming days as the effects of cyclone Arnab begin to wear off. Many areas have had rain, thunderstorms and cooler temperatures but things are set to improve in early November.
Although there may be rain, cloud and patchy rain in some areas, farmers, particularly those with mature paddy crops will be concerned.
Recent rainfall has been caused by the remnants of cyclone Arnab which has weakened to a low pressure area in north Chhattisgarh and bordering East Madhya Pradesh.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that isolated heavy rains are likely to occur in Jharkhand on Friday. Rains have occurred in many parts of Eastern India including Bihar and West Bengal.
The weather has changed quite dramatically with Ranchi seeing a minimum temperature of 19°C on October 30, with 8mm of rain falling in the past 24 hours.

According to the latest city forecasts from the IMD:
Overall, things are looking to improve and by November 5 we will see more stable conditions in Ranchi. Different districts may see different weather conditions.
The IMD have released a state-level alert for heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning on October 30. However, there was no state level alert for November 1-5. Sub-Divisionwise Warning
A key point to mention here is that although the headline states a yellow alert for 3 districts, this does not mean there is a new alert for November 5. This cannot be confirmed from the district-level IMD alerts. There is no evidence to suggest this from the latest official forecast.
Residents should take care due to the ongoing rain and thunderstorms. Waterlogging, wet roads and lightning can cause problems.
We would advise people to avoid sheltering under trees in the thunderstorms and avoid open fields/water sources if there is lightning.
