JPSC-JSSC Exam Cancellation: In Jharkhand, the High Court has given interim relief to some government workers. These people were facing risk after the state recruitment exam issue. The court has kept protection in place. This will help them avoid being removed from jobs tied to the canceled JPSC and JSSC exams.
The case was heard on Wednesday, October 7. Justice Deepak Roshan presided over the hearing. During this time, the court kept looking at complaints against the state’s move to cancel the recruitment drives and related appointments. With this order, the affected employees will not be dismissed right away. The protection will last while the legal process and checks continue.
The state government canceled 22 recruitment exams in August. This followed a long protest by students. The protest raised claims of unfair practices in government hiring. At the same time, the government ordered investigations into 23 exams. These exams were linked to JPSC, JSSC, and other exam bodies.
Among the canceled exams was the JSSC CGL test. Several JPSC recruitment exams were also included. The government said it acted after reports and concerns came out of the probe into alleged exam irregularities.

The High Court had stopped the cancellation of the 11th, 12th, and 13th JPSC Combined Civil Services exams. That step kept protection in place for 342 appointed officers.
The judges said regular appointments cannot be reversed or ended just like that. They also said the process must follow the rules of natural justice. At that time, the court found no proof on record that every affected candidate was part of the alleged corruption or wrongdoing.
Earlier, the court also backed 56 Food Safety Officers. Their recruitment was linked to the cancelled exams.
Right now, the affected employees will stay covered by the court’s interim protection. Their final position will rest on what the investigations show and on what the High Court decides later.
The court also asked for extra supervision of the probe. Retired Justice Gautam Kumar Choudhary was named to oversee the SIT investigation. The goal is to avoid unnecessary trouble for those who are genuine candidates.
This latest High Court order gives short term relief. Still, the final result in the JPSC-JSSC recruitment dispute will depend on the ongoing investigation and the next court decisions.
