July SSI Payment Up to $967 Coming Soon: Here’s Who Gets It

July SSI Payment: Millions of people across the United States are waiting for their next Supplemental Security Income, or SSI, payment. The money will be sent out on July 1, and it can go up to $967 for some people. These payments are meant for people who live with disabilities that make it hard for them to earn money on their own. The Social Security Administration gives these benefits, but it’s not the same as regular Social Security payments. People who get regular Social Security do not automatically get SSI too.

Not everyone gets the same amount. How much money someone gets depends on how they apply.

  • If a person applies alone, they can get as much as $967 every month.
  • If a couple applies together, they can get up to $1,450.
  • If someone helps take care of a person on SSI and is listed as an “essential person,” they can get up to $484. These numbers have gone up by 2.5% since last year because of rising prices and inflation.

DOGE Now Has Your Social Security Information: Should You Be Worried?

To get SSI people must meet certain rules. They need to be at least partly blind or have a serious mental or physical condition. That condition must make it very hard for them to do daily tasks for at least 12 months, or it should be something that could lead to death. The goal of this money is to help people who really need it and can’t earn enough on their own.

What are the Social Security amounts in 2025?

In 2025, the most someone can get from SSI each month is $967 if you’re single, or $1,450 if you’re a couple. But not everyone gets the full amount. What you actually receive depends on a few things like how much money you already make, if you get any other help like a pension, and who you live with.

For example, if you live with someone and you’re not paying your fair share of rent or bills, the government might think you don’t need as much help and give you less sometimes as little as around $342 a month.

Sometimes people get two SSI checks in one month. That can make it look like you have more money than usual, and it could temporarily affect other benefits like Medicaid or food stamps.
