Kangana Ranaut confirms title change for ‘Mental Hai Kya’ as CBFC finds it harsh

Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Mental Hai Kya’ has become the talk of the town ever since the title of the movie was released.

The name of the film has always been a problem but now the lead actor of the film Kangana Ranaut has officially confirmed that there will be a slight change in the title.

Kangana said that the Central Board of Film Certification finds the title a little harsh and she also added that apart from it, CBFC did not object to anything else in the film.

A video was shared by a photographer on his Insta account, Kangana says “Well, there will be a small change in the title of the film because they (CBFC) find it a bit too harsh. We are more than happy to do that. But other than that, there are absolutely no cuts and they were thrilled to see the film.”

After minor changes, the CBFC has cleared Mental Hai Kya with a U/A certificate. The new title will be unveiled by the production house soon.

Recently the producer of the film Ekta Kapoor had cleared about the film being insensitive towards mental illness. She said in a tweet  “The film in no way marginalizes the mental health community and the title of our film doesn’t intend to disregard anyone’s sentiments. It is sensitive to the issue of mental illness.”

She also added, “a fictional thriller that encourages you to celebrate your uniqueness and embrace your individuality”.

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Prakash Rao Kovelamudi, Mental Hai Kya will release on July 26.
