Kargahar Assembly Constituency 2025: Kargahar is a rural assembly constituency situated in the Sasaram subdivision of the Rohtas district, Bihar. The constituency comprises 257 villages out of which 198 are inhabited. The closest city is Sasaram, which is the district headquarters.
The area is known for its farming economy, and most of the people are engaged in agriculture as their primary source of income. Deficient infrastructure, lack of quality medical facilities, and insufficient educational opportunities, are some of the main problems around which electoral discourse revolves in the region.
Kargahar has changed dramatically over the years with political parties competing for power. In 2020 it was Santosh Kumar Mishra of the Indian National Congress (INC) who took the seat after beating Bashisth Singh of the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) by 4,083 votes. Mishra got 30.76% of the votes whereas Singh got 28.66% .
