Shobha Surendran, BJP leader from Kerala, has been filed for her provocative statements against Kerala cops.

In a BJP march in Kannur, Surendran had threatened SP Yathish Chandra. Chandra first detained Shobha Surendran for unlawful assembly and later had a brief debate with Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan.

While Radhakrishnan was visiting Sabarimala, he had a standoff with Chandra over limitations on private vehicles reaching Pamba. It all happened while the restrictions were put in place for activists and devotees of the RSS and the BJP. The restrictions were placed in order to implement the Supreme Court’s order removing restrictions on women entry.

Kerala HC rules no more protests at Sabarimala temple

Sabarimala temple opened on November 16, kickstarting the two months long pilgrimage season.

In 2013, Shobha Surendran became the first woman leader to be elected to the national executive committee.
