Kerala govt appoints committee to study issues of women working in cinema

Kerala government appointed a three-member committee, led by a former Kerala High Court judge, to examine issues being confronted by women working in the cinema industry. Incidentally, the decision was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet, chaired by CM Pinarayi Vijayan.

The committee will be headed by Justice Hema. Popular actress of yesteryears Sharada and retired IAS officer K V Valsalakumari will also be the members, suggest a government press release.

The committee will scrutinise difficulties being faced by women in cinema and their working environment.

The Cabinet also decided to provide Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue), P H Kurian, an additional charge of Ports. PWD Principal Secretary Dr Asha Thomas has been selected as Road and Bridges Managing Director. Biju Prabhakar has been chosen Special Secretary PWD department.
