#MeToo: Singer Shweta Pandit accuses Anu Malik of sexually harassing her

Since October 5, dozens of women, including actors and journalists, have taken to social media to give detailed accounts of the sexual harassment and misconduct they have faced.

Adding to the row of event under #MeToo campaign, singer Shweta Pandit accused Bollywood music-composer Anu Malik of sexually harassing her when she was 15. “I cried endlessly,” said Shweta.

Shweta called Anu Malik a paedophile and sexual predator in a long note shared on Twitter on Wednesday.

“Had to go back to my worst memory as a teenage girl today to write this and speak up – its now or never. This is my #MeToo and have to warn young girls about #AnuMalik & let you know your #TimesUp @IndiaMeToo Thank you @sonamohapatra for speaking up about him & supporting this,” Pandit wrote in her tweet.

Singer Shweta thanked singer Sona Mohapatra for calling Malik out and urged others who have been exploited by him in the past, to speak up.

When several media publications reached out to Malik for his comment on the matter, he said, “No comments. This is ridiculous. I don’t want to talk about it. Today anyone says anything.”
