Acclaimed author Chetan Bhagat on Saturday landed in a major controversy as his name surfaced in the raging #MeToo debate with screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation he had with a woman, after the allegation of sexual harassment Chetan Bhagat issued a statement and apologised to the victim and his wife. This comes weeks after Tanushree Dutta-Nana Patekar controversy where Dutta accused Patekar of sexual harassment.

In one of the texts, Chetan wrote he wanted to woo the girl. When she said, he was behaving like any other married man, the author replied, “Is that what they do. Coz I don’t normally (sic)”.

Will you own up to this, Chetan Bhagat?

Chetan didn’t deny the allegations leveled against him and wrote a long response on his Facebook page.

“But first of all, I am really sorry to person concerned. The screenshots are of course real, and I am sorry if you felt they were wrong I hope you will accept my apology”, says Chetan.

The conversation is clearly an attempt of harassment and his admission of this act just clears the doubt.

Bhagat’s long response on Facebook, where he seeks apology is also the proof of his regressive mindset that continues to linger on.
