New Delhi, Nov 30 (IANS) Quick thinking on part of CISF personnel helped save the life of a 50-year-old passenger riding a Delhi Metro as they performed a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) process on him, official sources said on Monday.

Punjab resident Bharat Bhushan was travelling towards Huda City Centre along with his daughter when he complained of uneasiness and suffocation around 9.30 am inside the train.

“The Metro train driver informed the Station Controller at Ghitorni station, who in turn alerted the Shift Incharge CISF Sub-Inspector SK Yadav,” the CISF said.

Yadav along with other Central Industrial Security Force men rushed to the platform and deboarded the ill passenger at south Delhi’s Ghitorni station.

As Bhushan’s health deteriorated and he fell unconscious, a group of CISF personnel, including Constable Ratan Prasad Gupta, gave him a CPR while observing all precautionary measures.

The passenger thereafter regained his senses, after which an ambulance was called and he was shifted to Max Hospital at Saket along with his daughter for further medical assistance.

“Due to the timely action by CISF personnel, a precious life was saved,” the paramilitary force said.
