Follow Newsd On

Missed Social Security Payment: If you haven’t received your Social Security payment on time, it can be a stressful situation, especially considering how essential these payments are for many Americans.

With an estimated 68 million adults receiving Social Security benefits in 2024, any delay can be particularly concerning due to the high cost of living and the growing number of retirees. However, there are steps you can take to address the issue and ensure you get the money you’re owed.

What to do if you Missed Your Social Security Payment

Contact Your Bank

The first step is to reach out to your bank. The Social Security Administration (SSA) will not issue any reimbursement without the bank being contacted first. The bank may be withholding the funds due to account irregularities, verification issues, or pending debts.

Contact the Social Security Administration (SSA)

If the issue isn’t with your bank, the next step is to contact the SSA. They will begin an investigation into the situation and, if necessary, issue the missing payment. This could also involve correcting any administrative errors, such as an incorrect address.
