MSW final year student commits suicide at Aligarh Muslim University

ALIGARH: A final year student of Master of Social Work (MSW) in Aligarh Muslim University allegedly committed suicide in his Mumtaz Hostel room on Tuesday evening, October 15.

Anas Shamsi, a student of MSW final year of AMU, was found hanging in his room.

Shamsi hailed from Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh, police reached at the spot and sent the body for postmortem.

Aligarh City SP reached Mumtaz Hostel, AMU on hearing the suicide news on his private vehicle. Soon students assembled and started sloganeering against the police and AMU administration.

Is is to be noted that Sir Syed Day celebrations is set to take place on October 17, for which preparations were on full swing.
