A teacher of Mumbai’s Oxford High School in Ghatkopar allegedly beat up a student for not having an Aadhaar card. The teacher has been identified as Shyam Bahadur Vishwakarma who hit Suhail Ansari(16) on his head with a stick. He was later hospitalised at Sion Hospital. Reportedly, the boy already had a head injury and fell unconscious when he was hit there.

On being asked if he had hit Suhail, Vishwakarma denied the accusation. However, according to ANI, the CCTV footage from the school proved that he hit him with a stick.

When the students in the school were asked if they have Aadhaar card, a boy jokingly remarked that Suhail doesn’t have one. This made the teacher furious and he beat Suhail.

As reported by ANI, a case against the teacher has been registered at the Ghatkopar Police Station under sections 323, 324 and 375 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
