Nagaland: People in hundreds took out rally in Dimapur demanding results of Naga peace talks

Dimapur: On Monday, hundreds of people took out a peaceful rally asking for a Naga political solution at the DC court Junction in Dimapur, Nagaland. , the rally saw speakers from different organisations and sections of society coming out with a common voice to tell the government of India that the people of Nagaland want a solution at the earliest.

Dimapur GB Federation and the Naga Council Dimapur were the two organisations that organised the rally.

According to the Media, T Bangerloba, president of Naga Council Dimapur, said “Naga people want a solution immediately and they do not want to linger on anymore without a solution.

Sungsabeni Jamie, president of Naga Women Hoho Dimapur, added: “We have sacrificed too many souls.”

Families have lost fathers, mothers, children, because of the Naga political issue, she said, further urging the Centre for an urgent solution, which should be for all the Nagas.

Former Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker Z Lohe, while speaking at the gathering, said that only with peace can the state justify the statement of “Nagaland for Christ” and not with factions and guns.

After ending the peaceful rally people marched towards the deputy commissioner’s office and submitted a memorandum to PM Narendra Modi. The rally was also carried out in all the 11 districts and two subdivisions of Nagaland to bolster unity and symbolising resentment because of the Govt failing to reinstate the Naga people’s demands.
