Najeeb Ahmed missing case: 9 JNU students to appear before court

Nine students of JNU to appear before a Delhi court on Thursday. They may record their consent or refusal to go through lie detector tests in link with the Najeeb Ahmed missing case.  Earlier Patiala House Court Chief Metropolitan Magistrate had asked the students to appear before the court.

The Delhi Police had also issued a notice to the students asking them to appear before the court for a lie-detector test. However, after receiving the summons, the students opposed the police’s decision.

Notably, the Delhi Police was slammed by the Delhi HC over their slow headway in the case in February. They were asked to discover other prospects of investigation like polygraph test of other persons linked with the disappearance of Ahmed as all other clues in this case have not brought any positive result.

“The student had gone missing in October 2016; it is February now. Nearly four months have gone by and none of the leads are going anywhere. We asked for a polygraph test as the other leads have not yielded any results,” the court had said.
