NIA to take custody of Kupwara terrorist caught alive on July 26

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, and is expected to take custody of Pakistani terrorist Bahadur Ali, who was nabbed by security forces from Naugam sector near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district on Tuesday. In an encounter, forces killed four terrorists and managed to capture Ali.

Bahadur Ali, a 22-year-old has admitted to being trained by the Lashkar-e-Taiba, a terrorist outfit based in Pakistan. He said he was sent to India. Authorities recovered ₹23,000, three AK-47 rifles, a wireless set and two pistols from Ali.

Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said, “It’s a big achievement to catch a terrorist alive. The truth of Pakistan will come to the fore.” Union minister Jitendra Singh added that he was sent by the Pakistan-sponsored Inter-Services Intelligence.
