Nitish cabinet to soon get expansion, Prashant Kishor likely to get new role

Patna: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has indicated signs of cabinet expansion after the entry of political strategist Prashant Kishor in JDU. After the resignation of social welfare minister Manju Verma, the number of ministers in the Bihar government has remained 28. While 36 ministers can be inducted in the cabinet.

Nitish Kumar said that the cabinet expansion may take place after Durga Puja. He said that after Dussehra vacancies will be filled in many boards, corporations and commissions.

At present, JDU has 15 ministers, including CM, while BJP has 13 ministers, including deputy CM.

It is being speculated that Prashant Kishor may be given a place in the new Cabinet. Speculation is also doing rounds that Kishor may contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections after the entry in JDU. Although, it has not been confirmed yet.
