Nitish Kumar’s JDU barred from using its poll symbol in Jharkhand

The Election Commission of India has directed the Janata Dal (United) not to use its party symbol in the upcoming Jharkhand and Maharashtra state assembly election.

The order was issued in response to an application filed by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) which noted similarities of its own party symbol with that of the JD(U)’s.
