New Delhi, Feb 22 (IANS) The Opposition meeting to deliberate on a common minimum programme (CMP) has been postponed from February 26 to February 27, sources said on Friday.
The meeting will be held at Parliament annexe at 1 p.m., the source said.
The date change was made to ensure availability of leaders of all the Opposition parties.
On February 13, the Opposition leaders had met and decided to have a pre-poll pact and a common agenda to defeat the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections.
At the February 27 meeting, Congress President Rahul Gandhi, who was entrusted with the task of preparing the CMP, will present a copy to the opposition leaders.
“The CMP will be finalised after taking suggestions from leaders of all parties,” the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) source said.
West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP leader N. Chandrababu Naidu, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah and Rahul Gandhi had attended the November 13 meeting at Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar’s residence in New Delhi.
