OTT and Theatre Releases This Week: September 21 to 27, 2026 looks busy for anyone who watches films and shows. A few new movies hit theaters. At the same time, Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar and Apple TV will add fresh titles. The line-up spans Hope, Primetime, Village Rockstars 2, Shaque: Trust No One and Hunkkaar: The Roar.
Hope: September 25
Na Hong-jin’s Korean sci-fi thriller Hope reaches Indian cinemas on September 25. The cast includes Hwang Jung-min, Zo In-sung and Hoyeon.
You also get Hollywood faces like Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander and Taylor Russell. The release in India is planned in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Korean.
Village Rockstars 2: September 25
Rima Das’ Assamese film Village Rockstars 2 lands for a wider theatrical release on September 25. The story centers on a teenage girl in rural Assam. She deals with growing up, her friends, music, and how her bond with nature keeps changing. The film already played in Assam. It also picked up the Kim Jiseok Award at the Busan International Film Festival.
Primetime: September 25
Primetime stars Robert Pattinson. Lance Oppenheim directs it. The plot follows television journalist Chris Hansen in 2006. He is shown working on the TV series To Catch a Predator. A24 has listed September 25 as the release date. The film is also set for an Indian theatrical run.

September 25 also brings The Vvaan – Force of the Forest, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, and Heart of the Beast, featuring Brad Pitt. Nani’s The Paradise is scheduled to reach cinemas on September 24. Avengers: Endgame – Encore is also returning to the big screen with additional material.

Hunkkaar: The Roar: JioHotstar, September 25
Hunkkaar: The Roar stars Aneet Padda and Fatima Sana Shaikh in a socio-courtroom drama. The story centres on a teenager’s accusation against a powerful spiritual figure and the legal battle that follows. It premieres on JioHotstar on September 25.
Don’t Be Shy: Prime Video, September 25
Produced by Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt, Don’t Be Shy is a coming-of-age romantic comedy about friendship, first love, heartbreak and navigating young adulthood. The film premieres on Amazon Prime Video on September 25.
Brothers: Apple TV, September 23
Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson star in Brothers, a comedy that uses made-up versions of the two actors. The first two episodes hit Apple TV on September 23, then new episodes roll out each week.
Apple TV is not the only stop this week. Prime Video has Rise and Fall Season 2, and ZEE5 brings Toxic. There are also more releases on Netflix, Apple TV, and other services.
