PAC to summon Attorney General and CAG over Rafale case

New Delhi: Rafale deal controversy has created a huge controversy after the Supreme Court verdict. Parliament Accountability Committee is going to summon Attorney General and Comptroller and Auditor General of India over the report which is submitted in the Supreme Court.

Public Accounts Committee Chairman Mallikarjun Kharge has said that the claim of CAG report is false. On Friday after the SC verdict, Kharge rubbished the claim of such report being examined by the PAC. He said, “When the CAG does not have the report, it cannot come to PAC.”

Congress demands JPC into Rafale deal

Congress President Rahul Gandhi held a press conference on this issue on Friday and made a scathing attack against PM Modi.

On Page 21, in Para 25 of the judgement, the bench stated, “The pricing details have, however, been shared with the Comptroller and Auditor General (hereinafter referred to as “CAG”), and the report of the CAGhas been examined by the Public Accounts Committee (hereafter referred to as “PAC”). Only a redacted portion of the report was placed before the Parliament, and is in the public domain.”
