Para SF, IAF Garuds joins ops to recover Sukhoi-30 wreckage

Days after the Sukhoi-30 MKI jet went missing, Para (Special Forces) and Indian Air Force Garuds have extended support to the army’s ground column and joined the rescue and recovery operation. A Court of Inquiry will be probing the cause of the mishap.

Notably, the wreckage of Sukhoi-30 MKI jet was found on Friday – four days after the search operation began.

On May 23, the jet lost contact following which extensive search operations were launched to trace the jet. The two pilots who were onboard the aircraft have not been traced yet. Besides, bad weather is also affecting the operation.

The aircraft airborne lost radar and radio contact (about 60 km north of Tezpur) in Assam from Tezpur Air Base.
