PlayStation Pulse Headset 2026: Sony has shown off two new wireless gaming headsets for PS5. They are the PlayStation Pulse Wireless Headset and the higher-end PlayStation Pulse Edge Wireless Headset. Both are aimed at better sound for games, and both use updated audio tech.
The company says the new headsets include larger planar magnetic drivers. They also add PlayStation Link. Sony mentions AI features that improve microphone noise cleanup.
Sony Interactive Entertainment shared the details on September 15. The standard Pulse headset is set to arrive in select markets during the 2026 holiday season. The Pulse Edge should show up in early 2027. Sony has not listed prices or firm dates yet.

Both models use planar magnetic drivers. Sony says the design is similar to what you might see in studio gear. This is the same kind of tech PlayStation used before with the Pulse Elite. With the new drivers getting bigger, Sony expects deeper bass. It also says it will keep separation and spatial detail.
For players, the goal is clearer directional sound. That means footsteps, reload sounds, and other effects may stand out more during play.
Each headset also supports PlayStation Link. Sony describes this as lossless audio with low delay. You can pair the headsets with compatible PS5 systems. They can also work with PlayStation Portal. Sony says PC and Mac devices are supported as well, through PlayStation Link.
On top of that, both headsets can use Bluetooth at the same time. This is meant to help people switch between gaming audio and phone calls without much hassle.
