The two key entrance examinations — Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) are scheduled to be held in September. Given the COVID-19 situation, candidates are demanding the postponement of the exams.

Early in July, Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal announced that the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET 2020) will now be held in September. The announcement was released based on a report submitted by a panel of experts. The decision was taken after considering the prevailing situation of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The JEE Main entrance exam for admission to undergraduate level engineering courses will be held from September 1 to 6 and JEE Advanced will be held on September 27. NEET will now be held on September 13. These were to be held in April and May, respectively.
