Priyanka Chopra Announces New Hollywood Film: Priyanka Chopra Jonas continues to strengthen her Hollywood career with another high-profile project. The global star has officially joined Academy Award winner Russell Crowe in the upcoming sci-fi action thriller Bluefly, directed by Nimród Antal.
Priyanka shared the announcement on Instagram with a simple caption: “On to the next.” The post basically confirmed her casting in Bluefly and then quickly it got flooded with all these congratulatory messages from fans as well as colleagues.
Right near the top of the reactions was husband Nick Jonas, he showed his support by liking and commenting on the announcement too, which made people who stan the couple really happy.
Per the official synopsis put out by the filmmakers, Bluefly centers on a grieving United Nations translator who ends up tangled in a covert black-ops mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It aims to recover a mysterious aircraft that apparently was never supposed to exist in the first place.
According to Deadline, the synopsis of the film reads: “Deep in the Congo, a grieving UN translator is pulled onto a black-ops mission to recover a downed aircraft that isn’t supposed to exist. As a Special Operations team pushes upriver through militia-held territory, the recovery becomes a descent — and the closer they get to the craft, the clearer it becomes that they were never meant to bring it home.”
As the operation goes further into hostile ground, territory that’s held by armed militias, the team discovers a secret that totally flips the rescue effort into this desperate survival situation. The creators describe the film as a grounded, character-focused thriller built around a big science-fiction premise.
Talking about the project, Highland Film Group COO Perrier told the publication, “Bluefly is heart-pounding entertainment with a complex story full of unexpected twists. With Nimród Antal at the helm and our wonderful cast, we cannot wait to introduce this fantastic project to our global buyers.”

The project is backed by Highland Film Group, which will present the film to buyers during the Toronto International Film Festival market.
The announcement adds another major title to Priyanka Chopra’s growing international slate. Alongside Bluefly, she is also working on filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli’s ambitious Indian project Varanasi and has several Hollywood productions in development, further cementing her status as one of India’s most prominent global stars.
