After on Wednesday Priyanka Gandhi Vadra assumed her Office of Congress General Secretary, in what will mark as her first visit to the state after joining politics few days before, on Monday the AICC General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh East will arrive in the state capital of Lucknow for a four-day visit. Along with Priyanka, Congress president Rahul Gandhi and the general secretary in charge of western Uttar Pradesh, Jyotiraditya Scindia will also be present.
A roadshow starting from airport to party’s state headquarters has been planned. The three are expected to address the crowd at Lalbagh trisection, after which they will go to Hazratganj.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi had appointed Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as AICC General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh East on 23 January 2018.
“Honourable Congress president has appointed Shrimati Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as AICC General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh East,” the party had said in an official release signed by General Secretary Ashok Gehlot.
The party had also appointed senior leader Jyotiraditya Scindia as AICC General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh West.
