Punjab Launches HUNAR: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has launched two new online portals aimed at making it easier for companies to invest in the state and for young people to find jobs.
The HUNAR Punjab and Fast-Track Punjab portals were launched on Thursday. The state government said the new systems will make investment approvals faster and help industries connect directly with skilled workers.
Mann said investors using the Fast-Track Punjab portal will be able to get the required approvals through a single-window system within 45 days.
The HUNAR Punjab portal is mainly focused on jobs, training and links between industries and educational institutions.
Companies will be able to use the platform to find and hire skilled young people. Students and job seekers can also use it to look for internships, industrial training and employment opportunities.
The portal will also support cooperation between industries and educational institutions. Around 1,750 institutions have already registered on the platform, according to Mann. Features include
Separate dashboards will also be available for industries, educational institutions and government departments. The Punjab government said local skilled youth will be given preference for employment opportunities in the state’s industrial sector.
The second platform, Fast-Track Punjab, is designed for investors. It will provide information about financial incentives available in the state and allow companies to follow their applications online.
“Investors applying through the FastTrack Punjab Portal will receive all approvals within 45 days,” Mann said.
The chief minister said the government has also introduced e-Office and other online systems across departments. These measures are aimed at reducing delays and making government work more transparent. Industries, Commerce and Investment Promotion Minister Aman Arora said the two portals will digitise the department’s work and reduce problems faced by companies while getting approvals.
Mann said Punjab has received investments worth ₹1.89 lakh crore since 2022. According to him, these investments have helped generate around 6.31 lakh jobs.
He said the government’s aim is to create more opportunities so young people can find work within Punjab instead of having to leave the state for employment.
“Earlier governments used to organise investment summits and sign MoUs, but companies did not actually invest in Punjab,” Mann said, while linking the recent investment figures to his government’s policies and business environment.
Arora said the new platforms will also help industries find skilled manpower while giving more employment opportunities to Punjab’s youth. Chief Secretary KAP Sinha and other senior government officials were present during the launch of the two portals.
