A ragpicker’s son, Asharam Choudhary who has always dreamt of becoming a doctor, has found a seat for himself at Jodhpur AIIMS for MBBS. Asharam Choudhary, who belongs to Vijayaganj Mandi, Uttar Pradesh, has always dreamt of doing something for his village and now, is finally realising his dream as he has cleared the examination at AIIMS.

Reflecting on the same Asharam said, ‘I want to thank my parents and Navodaya Vidyalaya, and also Dakshina foundation for providing me financial help. A doctor in my village inspired me to choose this profession. Now when I have got admission in MBBS I want to help people of this areas as there is no doctor with a degree here.”

However, Asharam Choudhary’s father Ranjit Choudhary saddens by telling that the family is financially weak. He said, “He has got admission in AIIMS but we don’t have money to support him. Let’s see what we can do. As of now a doctor and the Collector helped us.”

As the proverb goes, ‘If there’s a will, there will always be a way’, Asharam Choudhary has become a source of inspiration to many.
